Using the biological agents can result in the spontaneous distribution of the agent in an ecosystem. The aim of the project is to evaluate the importance of the occurrence of fungi of the genus Ophiostoma, Ceratocystis, Cytospora etc. in tree tissues for the development of underbark insects. The fungi form close symbiotic relations with underbark insects acting as their vector. The subsequent development of mycoflora in the surroundings of the insect gallery has, as a nutritional factor, crucial importance for the ontogenetic development of the beetle. Particularly the production of vitamin B by fungi is of great importance for the insect.
