"The purpose of this project is to develop the new method for direct determination of platinum group elements (especially palladium) in various environmental samples by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry technique and to obtain new information about interferences removal. The concentration of platinum group elements (PGEs) in environmental samples is very low in comparison with the concentration of interferents. The detailed goal is to elaborate procedure for direct removal interferences taking into account chemical composition of the sample and the influence of other analysts in samples with complicated matrices without any preconcetration and separation steps. Elaborated methodology will be verified within the monitoring of PGE contamination of the environment on localities with high burden by traffic since traffic is the dominant source of these metals.
