"The aim of this project is to determine compounds or mixtures of compounds of environmental and pharmaceutical interest while achieving the highest possible level of automation of the analytical process. Particular emphasis will be focused on automation of sample preparation techniques such as solid phase extraction (SPE) in order to achieve low detection limits and high selectivity of the assay. For SPE technique testing nanoparticles (NPS), such as carbon nanotubes or nanoparticles of metal oxides, such as SPE sorbents is planned. The mentioned pretreatment techniques will be implemented into flow systems. Due to its high ability to pre-concentrate the analyte and SPE procedure will overcome problem of low levels of analyte content in real samples, allowing connection to conventional detection techniques (spectrophotometric, spectrofluorimetric or chemiluminescent detector), and their use for the entire analysis in flow systems. On the other hand, SIC (Sequential injection chromatography) method allows solving problems related to the analysis of samples containing multiple analytes to be online pre-concentrated, separated and determine in a flow system, based on the SIA with the separation column. The combination of monolithic column (high separation efficiency at low pressure) with the advantages of SIA method allows performing simple separation without expensive equipment such as HPLC. The experimental work will thus be focused on the development of fully automated methods for the determination of low concentrations of inorganic (metal ions) and organic (active substances such as antibiotics and analgetics) substances in simple flow systems with on-line pre-concentration of the sample using an automated SPE procedure, that corresponds with \u201Egreen chemistry\u201C principles, because of important decrease of organic solvents amounts and produced waste volumes (additionally manipulation with organic solvents is carried out in close system)."@en . . .
