"The main goal of our project is to study slected open cluster through variable stars of all kind. Preferably we are intent to use eclipsing binaries (EBs), pulsating stars and chemical peculiar stars. EBs are the most accurate source of stellar parameters, thus using them we are able to determined parameters of open cluster members as accurate as possible and then check their evolutionary status, chemical composition, distance and other characteristics against data found from other methods. Pulsating stars (e.g. RR Lyrae and Cepheids) are used as standard candles for cosmologic distance scales. Using archived and new data we can improve the accuracy of period-luminosity relationship and thus their distance and distance of open cluster which contain them. Chemically peculiar (CP) stars offer us an unique possibility to study rotational period variations, which help us to understand the evolution of their rotational velocities and can be used as check of their evolutionary scenario."@en . . .
