In respect to this, the proposed study is aiming to explore the capabilities and propose a method for using imaging spectroscopy of high spatial resolution for the estimation of crown biochemical and biophysical parameters. Crown status assessment of spruce trees will be done based on the retrieved quantitative parameters. Particular objectives are: A) Establish a sufficiently precise method for overall chlorophyll (Cha+b) content estimation from the high spatial resolution hyperspectral data of Norway spruce crowns, B) Find a suitable approach for the spruce crown architectural information retrieval, as a potential marker of crown transformation rate.
