"Unambiguous detection and determination of potato viruses, and/or their strains which are able to evoke important qualitative changes also in potato tubers, has an extraordinary significance both from epidemiological point of view, and for the possibility to utilize suitable preventive arrangements, reducing the negative impact of these diseases. In the conditions of our country these potato tuber deteriorations may be elicited by infection with Potato mop-top virus (PMTV), Tobacco rattle virus (TRV) and also by some deviated strains of Potato virus Y (PVY-NTN). This research project proposed for five years is composed as five separate parts, in detail characterised by five projections with fifteen activities.
