Biotic contaminants e.g. toxinogenic microorganisms, toxinogenic fungi or presence of GMOs are monitored in commodities and processed food/feed. To comply with all the regulations, cost-effective and efficient laboratory tools are needed. Although several methods are available for the detection of above mentioned organisms in agricultural commodities and food/feed, several unsolved problems remain and are limiting factors for complying with food and feed safety regulations. Mostly molecular methods are used for GMo detection. Both participants aim to develop new tools and procedures allowing parallel detection of multiple GMOs .
