"0"^^ . . . "The aim of this project is to survey the presence of photoheterotrophic bacteria in alpine lakes in Tyrol. For rapid screening we will employ infra-red kinetic fluorometry. The bacterial abundances will be determined by infra-red epifluorescence microscopy. The optical techniques will be accompanied also by HPLC analyses. Diversity of phototrophs in the lakes will be analyzed by molecular methods using pufM gene.
