"This project aims to bring together the expertise of the researchers from the Czech Technical University in Prague and the Vienna University of Technology in order to find new solutions to several long-standing basic research problems of visibility. Visibility is crucial for rendering virtual environments and it is considered as one of the classical problems in the field of computer graphics and visualization. As the complexity of the models and the amount of data (e.g., consider applications like Google Earth) grows quickly, visibility culling is of immense importance for real-time rendering applications like computer games or architectural walkthroughs. Based on our very positive experience with Kontakt (1999-17 , 2004-20) and Aktion (2007-48p11) projects we expect that this project will further intensify research collaboration between CTU and VUT.
