"\"The main objective of the project is to develop analytical methods for analysis of selected steroid hormones and phytosterols by GC-MS and LC-MS based on new extraction and derivatization procedures for the target analytes. The best technique will be used for the study of steroid hormones and phytosterols occurrence in water samples, especially from constructed wetlands waste water and in samples of sewage sludge and soil samples from selected sites. For preconcentration of target analytes different extraction methods will be tested, such as aqueous two-phase extraction, \"\"stir bar\"\" extraction and solvent extraction. Extraction using ionic liquids will be also tested.
