"*The project is aimed at research and development of conditions for a chemical reactive cell (CRC) introduction into the permeable reactive barrier (PRB) remedial technology in order to treat groundwater contaminated heavily by industrial activities. Utilization of four types of photochemical and chemical-catalytic processes will be examined for remediation of model as well as real contaminated groundwater from a chosen industrial site. Conditions and technical procedures for successful usage of this advanced technology will be verified via a pilot-scale test. Further, a methodology of CRC/PRB technology application will be elaborated. A part of project solving will be also verification of feasibility to combine CRC with other remedial processes applied within PRB (mainly adsorption and biofiltration). In accordance with current world trends the verified technology will offer the financially available and environmental friendly effective solution for remediation of complex groundwater contamination."@en .
