"The goals of this project are twofold. i) To contribute to further development of electromigration procedures as such including some didactic activities in educating students in analytical chemistry (this means development of new methods for the ultramicroanalysis and physico-chemsical characterization of peptides along with the development of new electrolyte systems. ii) To focus application of these electromigration methods on the separation and characterization of protein and their fragments,e.g. connective tissue proteins, peptide hormones, peptides involved in reproduction functions etc. In the part devoted to general methodology it is aimed to work out general structure-migration rules for protein separation. In the application area attention will be focused both on the separation of protein aggregates (supramolecular structures) and on the separation of low-molecular peptides.
