"The project is focused on the preparation of polyaniline and polypyrrole with well defined morphology. Polyaniline and polyrrole are produced as aniline or pyrrole monomer is oxidized by suitable oxidant. We assume that the choice of oxidant influences final products morphology due to differences in their oxidation potentials. In the project, the influence of used oxidant on the polymerization of aniline and pyrrole should be compared. Beside common oxidants, noble metals compounds, as AgNO3, or HAuCl4, can be used as oxidizing agent. Their reduction leads to the incorporation of noble metals particles into the conducting polymer. Such composites can have totally unique properties. The main aim of the project is not only to find preparation conditions for such structures but also, with help of vibration spectroscopy, to explain the mechanisms responsible for formation of such structures. For this purpose, the in situ infrared spectroscopy, developed for the study of pH influence on polymerization of aniline by ammonium peroxydisulfate, can be applied."@en . . . .
