Modulation in the activity of the Na+/K+-ATPase, by drugs or intrinsic factors has been reported to affect a variety of physiological phenomena. There are a lot of substances,\u00A0fluorescein analogues, which are components of medicaments, diagnostic methods or dyes useful in food industry, able to bind and inhibit activity of the Na+/K+-ATPase. Moreover, these drugs have not to be focused on regulation of Na+/K+-ATPase activity. It can lead to undesirable side effect of medicaments or toxic effect of food.\u00A0The aim of the project is to test hypothesis, that undesirable side effects of drugs or food dyes containing fluorescein or its analogues are caused by inhibition of Na+/K+-ATPase activity and to identify the binding site on the Na+/K+-ATPase.
