"The project deals with a diffusion of low-molecular solutes in polyelectrolyte hydrogel-based controlled-release systems. The study will include experimental and computer simulation of transport in proposed systems. In experimental part, the proposed diffusivity-determination method will be optimized and obtained diffusion coefficients will be correlated with particular parameters of the system. Interpretation of measured data will utilize computer simulation to describe the kinetics of interaction between the gel matrix and the diffusing matter. Consequently, diffusion behavior in the real drug-carriers will be simulated. The most important outcomes will include the expanded knowledge regarding particularly studied materials and mainly the complex model describing relation between physico-chemical parameters of the system gel \u2013 solute and its diffusion characteristics.
