"Layers of polymers are successfully applied in technology of composite materials, in microelectronics devices etc. Low-pressure electric discharges, which change chemical composition, are mostly used to improve the surface properties of such polymers.High-frequency low-pressure (from 0.001 to 1 mbar) discharge is almost applied. The low-pressure apparatus increases cost for this technology (especially for large substrates).
