"The goal of this project will be to design new approaches to solving transmission channel equalization in modern transmission technologies. This part has not been normalized and so the results of the project also can be used in the existing normalized transmission technologies. The project will mainly focus on the equalization algorithms used in multitone modulations mainly. Multitone modulations are increasingly used for data transmission in telephone access networks by ADSL (asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) and in the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) wireless transmission systems. These technologies are fully standardized and so optimizing the equalization of transmission channel is the only way how to optimize these transmission technologies. Simulations and actual measurements have shown that the existing design algorithms in ADSL transmission technology often fail completely in the case of transmission channels formed by a cascade of different cables and non-terminated"@en . . .
