"\"Project \"\"Qualitative-numerical algorithm for a complex structure formation applicable in the field of conceptual design\"\" deals with construction of a designed device structure-formation algorithm. The algorithm works with two stages. In the first stagethere is formed qualitative structure of a system, while in the second stage there are numerically determined solution operations and parameters. The first stage is based on works of Forbus, Kurumatian, Tomiyama and Yoshikawa, and also on approachesdeveloped within the work on expert system XCON and OPS-5 language. The approach of Evolutionary synthesis represents a combining method and follows the choice of a proper operations near to engineering reasoning. The second stage of the solution then isbased on works in the field of Genetic Algorithms and Genetic Programming, and also on reasoning about transformations between numerical and qualitative description of systems, (as mentioned by Ruspini).
