"Project Advancement of postgraduate studies in the field of selected photonic structures interlinks and combines fields of research in different areas of linear and nonlinear optical effects, propagation processes of optical waves, both spatial and guided, its modification via medium, and applications in selected branches of nonlinear and diffractive optics, and photonic structures based on photonic crystals, in connection to new optical elements and their integration for various applications. Namely, the project will concentrate on research on optically induced processes occurring during propagation in media and special diffractive and photonic structures. Students will be oriented both to theoretical studies of such problems (processes and mechanisms analysis, structure designs and optimization), and to practical methods and technologies, characterization and research and development in selected practical applications.
