"0"^^ . . . . . "1"^^ . . "In Central Europe, the post-mining sites represent the most convenient opportunity for research of pedogenesis in primary succession. The aim of the project is a description of diversity of microbial community in pedogenetic processes during primarysuccession and an evaluation of an impact of developing soil biotic and abiotic factors on it. The study will be realised on the chronosequence of spoil heaps undergoing spontaneous succession, located in a post mining landscape near Sokolov innorth-west Bohemia (set of sites: 0, 5, 15, 25 and 40 years after heaping the spoil substrate). The merit of the proposed methodology consists in a combination of three recent environmental microbiology techniques (analysis of DNA, lipid biomarkersanalysis and community level substrate utilisation) allowing different qualitative assessment of microbial community.
