"The subject matter of the present interdisciplinary research project is the study of the water cycle and the quality of water in various systems of management (field crops, grassland) in an agrosystem (field crops, grassland, soil set aside to rest, i.e.controlled green fallow land). The project will concentrate on the study of differences in the speed of rain water infiltration, further on the volume and quality of rain water seepage, and on evaluation of the possible loss of nutrients making use of lyzimetric instruments. This part of the project will be carried out in the form of field experiments on small plots within crop sequences with intensive and extensive use, including the soil that has been set aside to rest and covered with grass.
