"The subject of the project is study of phenolic compound in grassland plants aimed at esp. at negative effects which show up during CW-digestion (fibre), inhibition activity of rumen microflora, worsening of fodder palatability and intake. The aim of theproject is evaluate the relation of chemical composition and phenolic substances bonds in connection to nutritional value of grassland plants. Dietary effect will be considered as well as specific contribution of selected grassland herbs which are supposed to be involved as component of grassland seed mixtures in the future. The capacity of rumen micro-organisms to detoxicate phenolic acids released during CW-digestion in vivo, esp. ferulic and p-coumaric acids will be studied.
