Exploration of newly designed chemical strategies of molecule-mediated assembling and/or growth of Ag and Au nanostructures providing strong nanoscale-localized optical fields after resonance excitation together with probing of the generated optical fields by SERS and/or SERRS spectral measurements followed by enhancement factor calculations and statistical evaluation of the morphology-SERS/SERRS signal relationship are the main objectives of the project. In addition to this main goal, information about bonding of the mediating molecules to the metal nanostructure surfaces will be obtained by assignment of their SERS and SERRS spectra and used as a feedback information for testing the feasibility of a particular chemical strategy.
