"The project will address laser ablation of silicon monoxide and reactivity of laser-ablated silicon monoxide towards selected gases and volatile organic compounds in the gas phase. Its aim is to determine (1) stability and agglomeration ability of SiO during its ablation/deposition process induced with a pulsed CO2 laser and (2) reactivity of the ablated SiO agglomerates towards hydrogen, water and some simple organic molecules like methane, ethyne, ethene, benzene, methanol, chloromethane, methyl amine and others. Reactions of ablated silicon monoxide will be studied with the aim to find out their dependence on the size of ablated Si0 particles and to determine the nature and extent of these reactions in the gas phase in correlation with properties of solid materials which are expected to be deposited from the gas phase."@en . .
