"The proposal represents the direct continuation of the project which was awarded the grant GA CR-0503 for the period 1993-1995. It should support research in relativistic physics and astrophysics at thee department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University (Dept. of Theoretical Physics, Astronomical Institute, and Nuclear Centre), at the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the C.R., and at the Institute of Physics of the Silesian University. The project followsthe tradition of the research in relativity and relativistic astrophysics in the group which joins together researchers who keep scientific contacts for a number of years. It should also enable us to continue and develop further our international collab orations. We plan to study: - the problems of a fundamental character (e.g. exact radiative spacetimes, relations between gravity theories and quantum theory); - problems of classical general relativity (e.g. relativistic discs as sources of stationary f"@en .
