"The project is dedicated to update our technological basis for preparation of well defined high-quality single crystals of intermetallic compounds of f- and d- metals. Prepared crystals will be the subject of extensive and complex experimental research, which will provide reliable set of data for the understanding of the nature of the physical properties of these materials. Magnetic and transport properties of such intermetallic compounds are frequently highly anisotropic and therefore well defined single crystals are neccessary for the study of the intrinsic parameters of these exotic materials. In the preparation of crystals we concentrate on binaries and ternaries of lanthanides and uranium, namely RCu2, RCu5, RCo2, R2Fe17, RTX, UTX, U2T2X and UT2X2, where R is rare earth metal, T is transition metal and X is p- metal. The experience of the applicant and his co-workers with the preparation of single crystals in other laboratories will be fully exploited in this project. The single crystals"@en . .
