. . . "Technological applications of functional polymers often require them to be in the form of thin films. Many thin-film processing techniques have been developed for the deposition of single layers. Some of the techniques are able to prepare high quality polymer films with high reproducibility. This level of technology will enable us to deal with more complicated polymer structures. The project is going to promote Czech-Japan experience in sophisticated plasmachemical processes and Czech-England experience in nanoindentation technique for soft polymer films. Our experience was acquired in joint projects during last years. The controlled construction of functional polymer nanostructures (layered or gradient), using the plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition, is the main objective of the project. This conception introduces a new technological step for creative design and application of complex film systems in smart polymer nanostructures.
