"The project concerns the area of the oncological diseases treatment and increases the quality of microwave thermotherapy. Microwave thermotherapy has been used with radiotherapy since 1982 and it is based on a synergic effect of two point intervention into the tumor-cell dividing cycle. This combined oncological therapy gives new possibilities in the treatment of low-sensitive tumors. Many patients' lifes are prolonged this way. The task of the project is to create an on-line method allowing an accurate ultrasound measurement of the temperature distribution in human tissue. This method would make microvawe thermotherapy application more effective. Microvawe thermotherapy expansion is made inpossible by the absence of the accurate measurement ofthe tissue in the area of treatment.
