"The previous investigation of the dynamics of impact oscillators with rigid impacts carried out in the Institute of Thermo mechanics AS CR is the most complex and special case with many practical, applications. When the transition from the linear motion,without contact forces of moving bodies, into the strongly non-linear motion with rigid impacts is assumed, then this approach is the limit case. Whole interval between boundary cases represents a wide region of more or less soft impacts where it is desirable to take into account the duration of impacts and to use specific theological models simulating the contact elastic and damping forces between impacting bodies. Mathematical models of soft impacts enable to approach and precise the simulation ofmotion of a wide class of non-linear mechanical systems.
