"During the Late Glacial and Early Holocene, a strongly changing natural ecosystems had established. Human populations were their component. There are only sporadic informations about their impact on these ecosystems, and mostly not considering palaeoecological methods appropriate for impact evidence investigations. Recent finds of the new profiles in a model area of southern Bohemia promise to bring unique data on vegetation development and potential human impact in the Mesolithic. Together with archaeological finds in this area, we will be able to correlate pollen-analytical data with human presence in the landscape and quantify the human impact. Proposed project will therefore (1) reconstruct the Early Postglacial vegetation of the model area by mean of pollen analysis and identify potential human impact, (2) quantify a coverage and gradient intensity from the source (e.g. settlement), (3) with a help of review from Czech literature, confront data from different sources."@en .
