"The project outlines a complex collaborative research plan, focusing on the study of molecular principles underlying the living matter properties and selected biological phenomenae. The goals are to advance understanding of processes related to life-threatening diseases and to exploit new discoveries in effective medical treatments and to gain new insights into fundamental principles governing plant growth,insect behaviour and plant-insect interactions, as well as to develop control strategies.The proposed research will be conducted by consortium of investigators at eight institutes of the ASCR. The subprojects involving biochemical, molecular-biological, physiological, microbiological, pharmaceutical and medical research, will be carried out in parallel in a mutual effort to manipulate important biological processes in medicine, ecology and agriculture.
