"The project is focused upon the population biology of Gentiana species (G. cruciata, G. pannonica and G. pneumananthe) and Gentianella species (G. amarella, G. campestris ssp. baltica, G. obtusifolia ssp. sturmiana, and G. bohemica). Biology, ecology and genetic characteristics of the species and ecological factors limitng the wurviving of these formerly widespread and now rare species. The following characteristics Will be studied above all: 1. life strategies and regeneration of both Gentiana and Gentianella species, the most convenient management which ensures existence of viable populations will be found, 2. demographic structure of the perennial Gentiana populatins in meadows of different successional age, because a stable demographic structure is necessary for longterm survival of populations of any size, 3. differences in life history between tiny unbranched and robust branched Gentianella plants which significantly differ in morphology during flowering period."@en . . . . . .
