"The new preparation of supported oxide catalysts and oxide precursors of sulfide hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation catalysts by the reaction of the transition metal oxide and support or support precursor in the aqueous or alcoholic slurry will be investigated. The supported oxides will be for instance MoO3, WO3, V2O5, CoO and NiO and the supports will be Al2O3, TiO2, ZrO2, MgO and active carbon. The texture and catalytic properties in reactions of model compounds of these catalysts will be compared with the catalysts prepared by conventional solution impregnation. Selected catalysts will be used for the study of the effect of support type on the synergistic effect in bimetallic culfide hydrorefining catalysts. Not only the synergism in activity but also in selectivity hydrogenolysis/hydrogenation will be systematically evaluated.
