"The project is focused on the preparation of novel types of graft copolymers. For their synthesis, block copolymers selectively functionalized with various functional groups will be used as precursors. These functional groups will serve as initiating siter for the grafting of selected monomers. A great variety of grafted copolymers, different in the structure of the starting block copolymer, grafting monomer and in the number and length of grafts, can be prepared in this way. Functionalized and graftcopolymers will be studied in several ways: (i) Transport properties of membranes made of these copolymers will be tested for separation of gaseous mixtures. (ii) Copolymers will be used as additives in the adsorption studies of polymers at polimer/solidinterfaces. The results will contribute to easier tailoring of new efficient materials for membranes used in gas separations and to the stability of polymer coatings."@en .
