"\"It is proposed to utilize recent results of the applicant's laboratory in the field of electrochemical DNA sensors for further research aimed at development of simple, inexpensive, widely accessible analytical methods based on DNA hybridization and its sensitive electrochemical detection. These techniques will represent the base for new detectors applicable in decentralized diagnostics, genomics, studies of gene expression, etc. Proposed methods will involve combination of several principles introduced in this laboratory, includint the \"\"double-surface\"\" technique, electroactive labeling of probes or target DNAs, signal amplification by enzyme tags, and suitable procedures of sample pretreatment. Testing of these methods with \"\"real\"\" target DNA samples comprises a part of the project.
