The objective of this paper is to create a functional test environment for LIN and CAN buses used in the automotive industry. For these purposes, MC912SFX processor, CodeWarrior Development Tool and FreeMaster development environment are to be employed. The aim of this task is to verify the reliability of communication via inexpensive buses used in the automotive industry. The control program is written in the CodeWarrior environment in the programming language C. In order to load and debug the program the USB Multilink interface was used. Monitoring and control of the bus is implemented via the FreeMaster environment in which the graphical interface was created by means of the HTML. The scripts written in the Visual Basic Script language, which provide interconnection between graphical and text interfaces, are part of the graphical environment.
