Critical Infrastructure Protection is currently considered an important aspect of solving security issues of EU countries, even given that its role is perceived in terms of maintaining functional continuity of the economic and social terms. It is therefore clear that the responsible entity will use all available approaches to ensure an acceptable level of security and protection of important elements of national as well as transnational (European) critical infrastructure. Among the useful approaches you can use appropriate forms of simulation and modelling tools. It is clear that the analysis of current approaches to protection of property points to the fact that the physical protection systems could be considered as an one aspect of a comprehensive protection system also useful in the present issue. Therefore, in this article we consider the use of modelling and simulation tools in the context of determining the optimal structure of the physical protection system of critical infrastructure elements. For the purpose of fulfilling this goal, we chose an EASI model and OTB SAF simulation tool.
