In this study, surface modified zinc oxide microparticles were prepared by the help of microwave-assisted solvothermal synthesis. Sodium carbonate and zinc acetate dihydrate were used as starting materials, diethyleneglycol was used as solvents, polyethylene glycol and polyvinyl alcohol were used as surface stabilising agents. Obtained powders showed various degree of core-shell structure development that is influenced by the time of microwave irradiation. Prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction and Diffuse Reflectance Ultraviolet-Visible Absorption Spectroscopy.
