Nanostructured Fe3O4/ZnO microparticles were prepared in two steps via microwave assisted solvothermal synthesis. Magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles synthesized in the first step were used as a seeds for growth of ZnO rods in the second step. Resulting hierarchical structure contains cores of single or several magnetic particles immobilized within the network constituted from entangled ZnO rods.
