Investigation of the static yield stress and viscosity behaviour of silicone oil suspensions of silica particles coated with polyaniline base in a DC electric field revealed that the intensity of the electrorheological effect increases at first with coating thickness, reaches a maximum at low polyaniline content (volume fraction ? ? 0.1) and then slightly decreases or becomes virtually constant. The frequency spectra of dielectric characteristics of these systems show very high relaxation times. This suggests that the interfacial polarization is predominantly controlled by polarizability of surface layer of particles. The influence of the particle core is of secondary importance. Studium statického prahového napětí a viskozitního chování suspenzí siliky potažené polyanilínovou bází v silikonovém oleji, za působení DC napětí, ukázaly, že intenzita elektroreologického efektu nejprve vzrůstá s tloušťkou vrstvy, dosahuje maxima při nízkém obsahu polyanilínu (objemový zlomek cca 0,1) a pak buď mírně klesá, nebo zůstává konstantní. Frekvenční spektra dielektrických vlastností těchto systémů vykazují velmi vysoké relaxační časy. To znamená, že mezifázová polarizace je řízena polarizovatelností povrchové vrstvy částic. Vliv jádra částic má až druhořadý vliv.
