The permanent formwork slabs investigated in this paper were made from cementitious composite materials reinforced by steel fibres and were used for the reconstructin of narrowed steel-concrete bridge near Benatky nad Jizerou. The UHPFRC mixture recipe was optimized for the mechanical properties and optimized for homogeneity of steel fibre distribution at cross section. The steel fibre distribution has a significant impact on the mechanical properties of slabs, especially on load-bearing capacity at bending tensile tests. This paper describes not only the mechanical tests, but also optical microscopic method for checking the homogeneity of the steel fibre distribution at the cross section of the slab.
