Interior lighting design within the project documentation is stated in two separate sections. At the structural and architectural part of documentation day lighting and energy performance of lighting is solved. At the part of electrical set the artificial lighting and lighting control is solved. Lighting parameters are covering two different aspects. The hygiene aspect is evaluated by the level of lighting Em (lx) and the daylight contribution D (%). Energy performance is evaluated by LENI (kWh.m-2/year). Comprehensive and effective solution of the interior lighting is complicated by the solution in two parts of the project documentation and by using incompatible parameters for the evaluation. The newly proposed method is trying to see the light as a medium necessary for the building operation, which is connected with health, safety and visual comfort of the observers as well as with energy performance of the building.
