dcterms:description
This paper introduces a method for movement detection in video suitable to processing of the electromyographic (EMG) signal measured during periodic movements. The video processing methods outlining the applicable approaches for these purposes are described in this contribution. This article is primary focused on description methodology and video processing methods used to gain the signal for segmentation. The segmentation signal is important to EMG signal processing, which provides important information for muscle onset and cessation detection, frequently performed in kinesiological studies analyzing muscle activation patterns.
