The paper describes an idea and early stage research results of the project under Czech Technical University in Prague. The project is about to help improve safety in ultra-light aircraft transportation, here is introduced one of several modules solved under the project. This module is activated in the emergency situation – when the engine fails. The idea is to use glass cockpit of the aircraft to show pilot possible landing sites and recommended track. Determination of possible runways in the nature uses installed camera and image processing algorithms.
