The purpose of the device is to insert the synthetic colour patterns into the NTSC signal. The device is based on four designed and constructed units: 1. Digital Video Decoder - in this block the input NTSC video signal is decoded and transcoded to the parallel component signal with multiplexed 8-bits components Y, CR, CB in chrominance format 4 : 2 : 2. 2. FPLA Picture Composer - this unit inserts the image parts into the video signal. The block is based on fast programmable logic array, which changes demanded video data in selected lines. 3. Transcoder YCRCB to RGB - this unit transcodes the digital output data YCRCB into the analogue component RGB or composite NTSC video signal. 4. Inserted Picture DSP - this unit ensures the control of operations of all units of the device using I2C and SPI buses. The unit provides the control of the device from PC using service line.
