Today's manufacturing plants are complex and in many cases distributed systems. They typically contain many subsystems with different functions. They exchange a vast amount of data, which we call events. In case of malfunction, the amount of events grows substantially. This phenomenon is called information explosion. We describe a few methods that will help users of proposed system to mitigate information explosion.
