Příspěvek se zabývá studim chování přenosových parametrů bezdrátových sítí dle IEEE 802.11 při přenosech na velmi dlouhou vzdálenost. Podrobně je zkoumáno chování při volbě různých funkcí (DCF a PCF) používaných pro přístup k médiu. IEEE 802.11 is currently the most popular wireless network standard. To share medium, it uses two possible modes: Distributed coordination function (DCF) and Point coordination function (PCF). DCF mode is mandatory for all 802.11 devices and uses a carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) method for successful sharing of the medium between wireless nodes. PCF mode uses a polling mechanism which means that access point controls the medium access queue by giving polls to the nodes. DCF mode is designed for non real-time traffic such as WWW or E-mail while PCF mode is optional for real-time applications such as VoIP or video streams. In this paper, we're going to study DCF and PCF modes behavior in the IEEE 802.11 network over a long distance by performing an experiment.
