Recently many research studies have been focusing on utilisation of evolutionary techniques for automatic extraction of decision rules from data. This paper describes a system based on grammatical evolution for automatic extraction of if-then fuzzy rules. The system has been evaluated on well-known test data sets from the medical diagnostics domain. First experiments show that the system works reasonably well on the tested data and gives results comparable with some other classifier systems.
