The paper examines deployment of flat concentric guide vanes in a segment pipeline elbow between the HP part and the moisture separator reheater (MSR) of a nuclear power plant with 1000 MWel unit power output. Several vane thicknesses are compared using the Computer Fluid Design (CFD). Moreover, the impact of using the guide vanes on the overall efficiency and power plant output is determined.
