*The paper presents a look into the thermodynamics of a real Stirling engine for a stationary electric power generation from a renewable energy source. The crank angle based measurements of fast changing pressures in a cold and hot cylinder above and under the piston at various load conditions have been performed in an engine manufacturer’s laboratory. The pressure traces have been analyzed by the software tools developed at the university. The experimental data analysis is discussed in the paper. The results have been used for a calibration of a detailed 1-D simulation model of the engine system which has been developed at the university using commercial software code GT Power.
